Eleanor McCain Releases Bundle of Joy

May 29, 2007 – Toronto

Eleanor McCain’s highly anticipated new album Bundle of Joy debuted today. The collection of well-known lullabies harmoniously continues the journey from McCain’s celebrated introductory album, Intimate. McCain features new arrangements of such beloved lullabies as When You Wish Upon A Star, Turn Around and Baby Mine along with the classics What a Wonderful World and the Beatles’ song Golden Slumbers.

Influenced by the joys and wonderment of motherhood, the genesis of this album came shortly after the birth of her daughter. In crafting Bundle of Joy, the music came from a personal place as a mother, and found its soul in the embodiment of carefully selected songs that were intimate, melodic, and ultimately songs that she sang to her own daughter.

The gifted soprano from Florenceville, New Brunswick didn’t overlook her upbringing. She reached into her Eastern-Canadian heritage with Cape Breton Lullaby and into her own childhood with songs that she sang with her mother such as Edelweiss and Somewhere Over the Rainbow for the 13 track album to ultimately find perfect synergy with the songs on her debut album.

“In combination, Bundle of Joy and Intimate truly express my musical vision,” said McCain. “I love lyrical melodies to convey that musical intimacy, but the lyrics also need to express a strong connection to that intimacy.” She continues, “To be able to make music that connects comforts and inspires is very important to me. I want the audience to be able to relate to a song and feel that I am singing about their thoughts and their life.”

“Music is an intimate connection to our lives,” says McCain. With this philosophy her intention is that Bundle of Joy will be the first of a series of CDs in the Intimate Collection to be created in the future.

Recorded in Nashville, Tennessee and Toronto, Canada with celebrated producer Terry Sawchuck, Bundle of Joy also features accompaniment by The Nashville Strings, and is distributed by Somerset Entertainment. The album is now available at HMV, participating Wal-Mart stores, and on the websites of Maple Music and Somerset Entertainment. Nationally, consumers will also have an opportunity to listen to a selected track at Pharma Plus locations and Shoppers Drug Mart stores within the Reflections listening stations, showcasing Bundle of Joy.
